New on 500px : Sun Seekers by vsquared_photo by vsquared_photo

First time shooting Sunflowers, I ran into a few shooting obstacles.
Sunflowers track the sun. The flower buds and young blossoms will face east in the morning and follow the sun as the earth moves during the day. Flowers planted too close together will compete and not blossom to their full potential. Not to mention these were more than Six feet tall. Hence, it was hard to find a good composition. Finally decide to pull my car closer to the flowers and shoot from the roof of my SUV. Again, hard to get the right POV, so I had to plank across the roof and shoot from my belly. Luckily, I found a good composition and plenty of good light left. A good lesson here is to get to your spot early and move around. Especially since light at sunset is precious.
